Our December meeting will be held at Dream Catcher, LLC, 521 Slack Street on TUESDAY, December 16. Delford Chaffin will be presenting on creating videos and we hope to create a holiday video for our group. We came up with some content ideas for our video. We had two main ideas:
1) A short Holiday Video with different members saying Happy Holidays for the different languages/beliefs (Merry Christmas, Feliz Navidad, Buon Natale, Kwanzaa, Hannukah, etc.) with a culmination of the group at the end saying Happy Holidays;
2) Animation of Santa calling out to his reindeer only calling out Adobe products instead ("on Flash....on Flex...on ColdFusion and AIR, etc.).
In fact, we may end up doing both ideas!! Please note that we plan on putting the videos on our KVWILD website and possibly on our Facebook page, (yes we have a facebook page, thanks to Delford: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=32601298774).
This is roughly what we have planned, but we welcome your input as well:
Please note that you ARE NOT required to be in the video. It is on a volunteer basis only. This is a BYOP (bring your own props) meeting; however, Delford and I will hunt around for props as well. Also, DO NOT WEAR GREEN to the meeting or you will disappear in front of the green screen.
I need your RSVP and if you anticipate guests, how many (to order enough pizza).
Don't forget we will be doing our raffle for our 6-month Adobe software giveaway. Only regularly attending members with at least one point are eligible. Members, make sure I have your points tallied for the event.

As you may have heard, Adobe has announced the release of Adobe Flex 3 and Adobe AIR 1.0. Now that the cat is out of the bag, this will be the focus of our March 11, 2008 special meeting! Adobe is sponsoring this meeting with food, giveaways and a raffle copy of Adobe Flex Professional. If 50 people or more attend this meeting, we will also be able to raffle a copy of Adobe CS3!!
Flex 3 is a feature-packed release, adding new UI components like the advanced datagrid and improved CSS capabilities; powerful tooling additions like refactoring; and extensive testing tools including memory and performance profiling, plus the addition of the automated testing framework to Flex Builder.
Adobe AIR is game-changing in so many ways, delivering rich applications on the desktop, enabling access to the local file system, system tray, notifications and much more. Now you can write RIAs on the desktop using the same skills that you've been already using to create great web apps including both Flex and AJAX.
Don't miss out on this opportunity to see and hear about this highly anticipated release of Flex 3 and AIR at this meeting.
The location for this meeting is the State Capitol Complex, WV Employee Development Center (Building 7), in the Training Labs area on the 1st floor.
